Planning for Safe Teen Driving

For parents with or without their teens ages 14 and up

Families can work together to substantially reduce the risks of crashes in the first years of teen driving. Learn about the problems experienced by novice teen drivers in our area and proven strategies for teens and parents to safely navigate this critical stage. Parents can attend alone or with their teen. National Safety Council book included.

Family Council Workshop

For all family members ages 6 and up

In many families parents make most of the decisions. At PEP we believe that everyone in a family has much to learn and much to contribute to:

  • increasing cooperation and increasingly sharing responsibility
  • making plans and coordinating activities
  • listening to each other and being heard
  • solving problems and setting limits

Come with your children to learn the skills for organizing the business of being a cooperative family. When registering, please include the ages of children attending.

Prerequisite: PEP I or PEP Thriving with Teens (currently enrolled in or completed)

Allowances: Early Lessons in Money Management

For Parents of Children Ages 5 - 18

Allowances provide the perfect vehicle for helping children develop their money management skills and general financial savvy. They also help to reduce power struggles. Learn when to start an allowance, how to incorporate responsibilities into the allowance and how to get kids involved in saving and giving.

Good Work! Raising Responsible, Competent, Cooperative Kids

For parents of children ages 2-18

Tired of the chore wars? Wondering when, why, or how to involve kids of all ages in the important work of the household? This workshop invites parents to challenge their own (and their kids') attitudes towards family jobs. Help children develop life skills, connect with others, organize tasks, manage time, solve problems, and set and meet deadlines -- with good cheer, creativity, even playfulness! Examine your expectations. Learn practical strategies and see what tools make tasks more interesting.

All Day Journey to Intimacy

For Any Couple in a Committed, Intimate Relationship

Presenters: Barbara and Don Fairfield are a certified marriage enrichment leader couple with the Association for Couples in Marriage Enrichment. Barbara is also a licensed marriage/family therapist in Maryland and Don is a physicist with NASA.

This all-day workshop is for couples who are interested in exploring where they are in their development of a close, connected and passionate relationship. The all-day format will allow couples to process more completely some of their issues.
