Getting Organized: Where Do We Start?

Planning for Safe Teen Driving

for parents with or without their teens ages 14 and up

Families can work together to substantially reduce the risks of crashes in the first years of teen driving. Learn about the problems experienced by novice teen drivers in our area and proven strategies for teens and parents to safely navigate this critical stage. Parents can attend alone or with their teen. National Safety Council book included.

Setting Limits for Young Children

Allowances: Early Lessons in Money Management

Communicating with Teens and Talking About Sensitive Subjects

For parents of teens ages 13 and up

Mondays, 11/8/10 - 11/22/10*
*Sign up for week one only or add on weeks two and/or three. Discount when registering for full 3-week series.

Teens often seem to tune parents out and shut down. Parental communication style greatly affects how much your teen hears on key subjects. Sign up for Week 1 (#608, 11/8/10) to focus on key ways to improve your communication with your adolescent. Add on one or both of the additional two classes to focus on effective ways to talk about drug and alcohol use (#609, 11/15/10) and/or sexuality (#610, 11/22/10).

NOTE: You must complete #608 on 11/8/10 to take weeks two or three.

Within a committed relationship, how these powerful feelings are handled determines the growth or erosion of true intimacy. With potential to deepen -- or to damage -- the relationship in the hands of each partner, it is essential to cooperate constructively, especially when anger signals the opportunity.

Family Council Workshop

for all family members ages 6 and up

In many families parents make most of the decisions. At PEP we believe that everyone in a family has much to learn and much to contribute to:

  • increasing cooperation and increasingly sharing responsibility
  • making plans and coordinating activities
  • listening to each other and being heard
  • solving problems and setting limits

Come with your children to learn the skills for organizing the business of being a cooperative family. When registering, please include the ages of children attending.

Prerequisite: PEP I or PEP Thriving with Teens
